White-fronted geese
by Jim Hansen
Haven't had much time to photograph lately, but here is one from last March. Most of the white-fronts had migrated north by this time, but there were still a few around. I liked the morning light on these birds along with the snow-capped coast range. To me, there is nothing quite like watching waterfowl land. D800e, Sigma 150-600 @ 600, F9, 1/2000, ISO 1000. Any helpful comments would be appreciated.

9 commentsPretty nice sequence of movement of theses geese.I don't think that I would change anything. Geese are fairly sharp and the mountains are a nice feature to have in this image...................Jim
Very nice light on these speckle-bellies, in an attractive setting. If it were mine, I might crop out some of the out-of-focus grassy foreground; it doesn't add much.
My first impression was that the image was made of three different shots, combined.
Nice light.
