Even as the waves retreat , the shy starfish buries itself into the sand, or may be waves placed it below a layer of sand...

I looked at this more from a pattern on a sandy beach, a tiny landscape.

Balan, A tiny landscape that is pretty cool. Yes, it does look like maybe a wave covered it with sand. You made a nice comp with this and some nice textures here as well.

Balan, you could have titled this "Shooting Star" because that is what it looks like with the tail and the 'shock front' where the light sand meets the dark. This is a very cool image, and is nicely processed.

A unique find, the perceived motion in the sand and furrows makes for an interesting shot.
