Getting back to my Canadian Rockies shots. Our first week there was moderately wet but most was scattered showers. While driving into Banff on the Bow River Parkway there was a sudden break in the clouds and one of the most intense spectral displays I've seen in a rainbow in a long time. I was lucky to already be set up as this was a very fleeting moment and gone in less than a minute. All comments welcome.>=))>

Bill,

Wow! Intense is certainly the right word.  How fortunate you were to not only capture this, but to experience it.  No words or critiques; simply a spectacular moment in nature.

This is really well done, IMO. The trees are just the right size for the canvas and their edges provide enough detail that they form as good a silhouette as you ever see. An there is just enough of the silhouette to add to image yet not dominate it. The mountain has good light on it to provide excellent texture and luminosity. And the clouds add so much atmosphere (pun intended). The colors of the rainbow are a bit funky but I can buy into it as artistic interpretive discretion. Thanks for sharing.

Bill, I love the silhouette of the trees here with that amazing background. Great comp with some pretty wild light and colors. Had to be something being there for this one.

Remarkable capture of the rainbow, Bill. Interesting to see the wide bands of the rainbow captured by your longer lens. I like the sharp details in the rock face, the trees in shadow, and the clouds. Well balanced and otherwise composed. Very nice.

I really like the composition here, Bill. as Igor said, the trees occupy just the right amount of space. I love the detail in the wall and the clouds. I do agree with Igor that the color is over-saturated. I do think it could be toned down and still have a nice look and feel.

The rainbow was just where you want it. Excellent job on this.  I like your  decision  to let the fg trees stay dark and create a nice basecamp for the image.
