This is a zoomed in subset of my previous post.  Looking across the Lowe River as the sun vaporizes the previous nights rain on the mountains.

Really I maybe thought there should be more snow. Is this recent? I like how the fog is rising and running up the mountain side.

Very nice scene, and quite dramatic, Gary. I love the clouds, but I am not enamored by the contrail. The color and detail look very nice.

Gary, A great looking scene that feels quite remote. The conditions you captured are wonderful.

This is also quite nice, but I like the wider view better. Ditto on Preston's contrail comment. Clone?

Neat how that one cloud looks to be flowing up the edge of the peak.  This is a lovely view.  The scattered sunlight adds some good interest.  I'm having mixed feelings about how much river...there a nice balance in this view, but I could also see cropping that first channel.

Gary,

I think I prefer this one by a fair amount because now the river is part of the story (including the driftwood, etc.; it's a solid and necessary base for still a grand landscape.  I think the previous version was more about the sky, clouds, rising fog, and not so much the river (hence the crop suggestions.)  Here, all the elements are working together as a whole. I like this a lot.

I didn't really notice the contrail until mentioned - if that's what it is.  If you decide to do anything, I wouldn't just leave that area blank, you'd be better off leaving as is.

The detailed view is excellent, Gary. Nice work with the Sony here. laugh
....btw: if you want to delete the contrail a simple lasso and content ware will do a fine job and make it look natural too.....enlightened

It must have been incredible to watch this scene unfold in person.  I imagine the sound of the water in the river trickling by and birds chirping while watching the clouds swirl around the majestic peaks...this really transports me to the scene.  Nicely done.

Beautiful, Gary. I could see cropping a bit off the bottom. The drama in the top half is outstanding and where the attention should be.

I like this, Gary, but it looks too warm to be something you took recently, doesn't it??? I see green on those mountainsides.
This is sweet, though.  Those wisps of cloud moving around in there are really nice.  Makes me just want to sit and look.
Nice one.
