I have been using the flamingos at the Miller Park Zoo as test subjects as I work through selecting a new telephoto lens.
Canon EOS 80D
1/640 @ F-8 ISO800
EF-100-400mmF-4.5-5.6L IS II USM @ 400mm monopod.

Wow, great detail and pose here! Maybe a little tight in the frame at the top, but a very nice image!

The detail and colors are remarkable. To see the close up of the fine light pink feathers against the dark pink and black beak is a nice contrast and the yellow round eye as a focal point. The neutral background color is very soft bringing out the textures in the flamingo. Not sure about the blurred body behind the birds neck might want to see the solid background color. Amazing photograph and amazing flamingo!

John,
I also find that the image is nice, especially due to details and colors.
I know that in the meantime you decided for the lens and as said somewhere else that will be my next investment.

Congrats on the fine WP! mixed feelings about the blurred bird's body; I think I'd personally clone it out.
