Sandhill Crane Mugshot

A busy time at home and work and a hard drive failure have kept me away from NPN for a short while.  I was able to save and backup my Lightroom catalogs and found this image tucked away in one of the folders.  I cropped for composition and removed a distracting OOF stick that ran diagonally behind the beak. I posted this bird before, but this image is a lot sharper than my previous posting.  This crane is used to people and he was checking me out to see if I was carrying a spare sandwich or two. K5 600mm f5.6 (1/400 sec at f9.0, ISO 640) Levels, Topaz Detail, Brightness & Contrast. ...........................Jim

Wow, amazing close up Jim. Love the details and colors against a good neutral BG.

Excellent, Jim.  One of these years, I'd love to get a chance to do a portrait like this of a Sandhill.

Very nice portrait of this crane Jim. Sounds like it was a great opportunity. Well done!
