WC # 768--Angelic Peacock

Gallery: Weekly ChallengePosted October 6, 2016169 views6 comments

This white peacock, with the sun shining through his pen was strutting his stuff in full plumage for an apathetic peahen. It was fun to watch! The soft glow on his feathers make him look angelic to me.

Taken at Winslow Animal Farm & Sanctuary in Norton, MA. A wonderful place for rescued farm animal, where they live out their lives without anguish. To get this photo I had to stick my extended lens through a fence and chicken wire. My knees were filthy!!

Canon sx 10 is, f/4.5, ISO 80,

I won Digital Nature Image of the Year (2011) in my camera club with this image, and several online competitions.

This is a lovely image. Congrats on your awards with it.

That said, I need to move it to the POP photo gallery since it is captive. This is from the posting guidelines for the Avian critique gallery

Avian Gallery - All images with birds as the main subject. Images of birds baited with seed, other non-live bait or recordings must be disclosed as such. Photos of captive birds taken at commercial game farms or photos taken using live bait are prohibited. Photos taken of captive birds at zoos and wildlife rehabilitation centers may be posted in the POP Gallery - please disclose the name of the facility where the photo was taken, as well as any other information that would be of value to those interested in wildlife conservation and education.

I'm sorry. I did read the guidelines and know better, but still a newbie here. I have no problem with your moving this to the POP gallery. Thanks for the reminder!
