Tamandua at iso 8000

Here's another image from the Pantanal in Brazil.  When I heard this animal, a Southern Tamandua (Anteater) was walking through the garden of our lodge one evening, I decided to try out the high iso performance of my new body, the 1DX II, rather than use flash at a lower iso.  Guide holding the flashlight to achieve focus.  I realize this isn't a great image, I would like a bit more room on top, more depth of field and when viewed at 100% it's quite noisy, but for web presentation I think it turned out fine, I did run Nik Define noise reduction on the background

One of my favorite tropical animals.  This looks quite good for such a high ISO, and the spotlighting actually worked out rather well.  Given the lit upper background, it could almost be mistaken for some sunlight shining through the trees.

You did a fine job of self-technical analysis.  I like your fun perspective of a really interesting subject.

Looks really good for the techs, Nate. A lot of detail in the head and face.

Interesting technique to obtain this image.  Looks good for 8000 ISO!
