Roadside Flowers

PLEASE VIEW LARGE.

This is a rework of an image I posted several years ago.  Actually, this is one of my favorite images because of it's simplicity, colors, and textures.  Certainly nothing iconic, just a pretty roadside scene.

Thanks in advance for any comments and critiques.

Simple and pure. The large image does it.

I like the idea of this composition very much: a pattern of rose shapes across a background of fine lines. It looks better when you click on it due to dark canvas. The lines become more noticeable and the intent becomes more clear. At first the more deadish grass didn't appeal to me but in the larger version it's the subject that enforces the line background the best. The grass isn't really a background because it's shares dominance with the flowers. The light color motif carries throughout the image. It's a very unusual image for this forum but I find it interesting.

I really appreciate you're sensitivity with these types of images, Bill.  I think that you are in a very select group here on NPN that can present a very effective composition in such a subtle and appealing way.  The dead or dried grasses definitely make the image for me.  The transition they provide between the textures of the foreground and the background grasses hold it all together very nicely.

This has tuned out really well, Bill. It takes a sensitive eye to isolate such a delicate scene and present it so beautifully.

Warm regards,
