Early morning reflections at an above treeline High Sierra lake. I was attracted by the mix of cool and warm tones and the interesting patterns created by the reflected snow. NEEDS TO BE VIEWED LARGE. Comments, critiques & suggestions appreciated.

Dave, This is really cool looking and I'm liking it a lot. The large version as you say is a must look. The light and cool blues are especially nice. The 50/50 comp works wonderfully with that fantastic reflection. Excellent work!!

Yes, viewed large this gives a nice graphical impression. The contrasting colors work well. Quite nice.

A beautiful high country scene. The blues work very well here. Makes me yearn for the high country!

Really sweet, Dave.  Love the depth of the alpine landscape and the reflection is very striking.   Well worth the effort to spend a few days in this cool and dappled environment .

Hmm, you are right Dave.  I actually found the 720 pix image a little too confusing and I found it difficult to immerse myself in the picture that is thankfully entirely rectified by going to the larger image which oddly has a much nicer colour palette too.

Great use of diagonal lines and symmetry.  I agree that the interplay of warm and cool tones works well here.

Excellent play on the light, reflections, pattern, and colors, Dave. It's a beautiful scene but interesting and artistic as well.

The large version is exquisite, Dave. Can't think of a thing to improve this. This truly a great time of day to make such an image. The 50/50 composition works well in this case.

My first tendency when processing telephoto landscapes is to add contrast. At first look I thought this needed some but after viewing a couple times I think this works because it focuses more on the patterns, so well done and I may rethink some PP as I like to use the 70-200 for landscapes.

This is a wonderful example that 50/50 comp can work.  Lots of elements to enjoy in the frame, and well presented.

A stunning, elegant image, Dave, that draws the viewer in with the gorgeous patterns, the delicate light, and wonderful mood.  Absolutely needs to be viewed large to really feel the impact.  I thought at first that it could benefit from a bit deeper, darker shadows but to be honest with you, I wouldn't change a thing.  My only hope is that you make a very large print.

You're right, it should be viewed large. There's just too much detail and impact that can't be appreciated in the smaller image.

Nicely layered image separated by the main subjects. The lake and the background seem to mirror each other in a very nice manner. The center layer is more concrete and textured with very subtle lighting and tonal qualities. The whole theme is mostly blue with some warmth on the left side due to the sun. Very nice and well seen.  This would look great as a large print on somebody's wall.
