One last image from my recent visit to Devil's Garden in Escalante. Found this twisted juniper that I liked. I also posted an image (E-9) from here yesterday in M&N if anyone is interested. D600, 18-35 @ 18, 1/60, f16, cpl, iso 200, tripod.

Love this Scott.  Your black and white version really looks nice with great tonality.  The light in the foreground works so well, acting as a diagonal to move the eye back in the scene and that gnarled old tree could not be better.  Superb composition.  The large version is a real treat to view.  Excellent image in my opinion.

I agree with Vance.  This is a joy to view.  I love the shadows on the rock, the sky drama.  It's a keeper.

Scott, I agree too! The large version is just wonderful. Excellent composition with that tree in the foreground and I love the dramatic mood with the dark sky. Really nice work on this!

I like this a lot, Scott. The B&W works really well. Great sky and nicely composed. I might lose the white rock on the right edge, but that is getting really picky.

Love this one, Scott.  Perfect placement of that fine juniper in this idyllic Utah landscape.  Very nicely done.

You came away with a great collection of images from this trip.  The B&W works well here with a great tonal range.  Nice composition as well.

Another nice one, Scott. Comp works well with the offset juniper and the distant views. At least on my monitor I think it could use a slight bump up in contrast.

Very nice image in black and white with a terrific sky and terrific subject matter on the ground. The contrast works really well here in both areas. Nicely seen Scott.

Great all-around shot. That tree is pretty cool and makes for a lot of visual interest. Nice dramatic clouds and great B&W conversion.
