What a classic pose for this Green Heron, David. The reflection is awesome. Great light and really good detail. This is a really nice image.

Hey David,
Man-O-Man - I'm a sucker for images with good water reflections as part of the composition and this is one of the best I've seen !
The large version is very nice and has so much going for it, however it appears a bit bright from the harsh sunlight on my monitor. In the larger version the actual subject and top of the perch are real close to blown in some areas while the subject and the perch in the reflection seem close to perfect. Wondering what you and others think or is it just me but I would reduce the highlights in the upper area and slightly darken the entire image.
Either way, this is yet another excellent Green Heron post,
Well done . . .

I like this a lot, David. You could almost flip the photo to view it but for the ripples over the reflective foot. Really well done.

Nice capture of a skittish bird. Never been able to get this close. The reflection is what makes this for me. Well done.

Splendid image, David. The reflection puts this over the top. Great setting and I like that you got the entire head separated from the reflection of the oof stump in the back.

I also have a fairly bright monitor but the whites are definitely not blown from my point of view. There definitely brighter in the real view compared to the reflection. There is probably 10% difference in brightness. That said, the real image could probably be reduced 10% in brightness but it's a matter of taste. Regardless, it depends on your eyes and your monitor. My monitor is calibrated on a regular basis but that's dependent on software and the observer. This is a very cool shot with very interesting color tones. Very nicely composed. I've only seen one of these Green Herons in the last 10 years and my area.

Very nice reflection on this one David. The exposure looks spot on to me, so not sure about the comments on the exposure. In a perfect world, I the reflection of the branch on the top right wasn't so close to his head, but that is very minor. If you chose to invest a lto more time on it, it wouldn't be that difficult to clone IMO. Still very nice work!

Fun ! The reflection looks almost sharper than the bird itself .... It looks fine on my screen, exposurewise and otherwise ! Congrats, brilliant shot ! Cheers, Hans
