Canon 1D-X, 500mm f4 x 1.4TC, handheld from truck
f5.6, 1/640, ISO250

Farm to Market Road, Valley County, Idaho, evening light. Interesting that his plumage is already looking a little worn.

70% of full frame. Slight adjustments to Levels, selective sharpening of bird.

C & C, please. Thanks for looking.

Hi Jim,

I like this one.  Subtle colors with soft background and a tack sharp lark too. I'm surprised that you were able to catch this one on a nice fence post..............................Jim

I will echo the other critiquers and add my one nit: I assume you took this as a vertical. If so, a horizontal might have given you more options for cropping, in order to get both sides of the post and place the Lark a little further to the left.

Lovely species, Jim. The BG colors fit the lark very well. The perch is a little massive compared to the size of the bird, but other than that a fine image ! Have a nice weekend, hans

I really like your comp here with terrific colors in the BG to mirror the neck of the Lark.
