Pictured is a sunrise from the Dorze' Lodge overlooking Lake Abaya in Southern Ethiopia. It was most interesting shooting from the clouds.

This has an almost primeval feel to me, with its jutting rocks and dark cliffs wrapped in foliage.  You've held the bright early sunlight in check well and brought out just enough detail in the dark areas - lovely image !

Hi Bob,

The view is wonderful, and the elements ofr beautiful light, lush greens, and atmosphere work really well together in creating a beautiful image. Some technical stuff, The greens look  a bit soft for me in the larger view, this might have been your intention. I guess they look pretty good, but if your intention is a large print, maybe have a look at it to see if they can be sharpened up just a bit. I might try to bring down the highlights a tad too, as they draw my attention  away from the rest of the beautiful scene.

There looks to be some recoverable detail up there in the sky, but these are minor suggestions as the image comes across beautifully for myself. I know it must have been a very bright scene to see in person. I am just thinking a bit more toned down highlights could help the image a bit.

A sweet view you have here Bob.

What a magnificent  scene!  Beautiful light, color and mood.  Everything comes together nicely in this comp.

The coinciding of the angles of the treed slope and cloud seems good.  The bright sky is a concern- i do not know if making an orton and color layer, and brushing in just that zone would work for you.  Cropping down and losing the trees on the left would not work.  It does seem soft as Ryan mentioned.

As with many of my countrymen, I don't know enough about Africa. I had no idea Ethiopia looked this green. Very Jurassic!
