2 Repo/1 BW Algodones #6

Hi Everyone,
This is the 6th Algodones Dunescape (two were post in M&N). This one is a texture/line abstract that I found after approaching the wider view shown in Algodones #5.  Unlike a few of the others, I'm 99.9% sure this one is best in color.

Let me know if it has enough interest to hold your attention.

I like this one Marylynne.  The diagonal shadow line looks like giant stitches holding together those wonderful textures. Very interesting.

Interesting use of the diagonal line formed by the shaded area. There is a lot to enjoy with all of the contours, tones and texture.  I think this would work as either color or B&W.

Great abstract.  My first thought was the the lower left corner needs to be toned down, but not to affect the shadow.  Nicely seen.

Very cool dune abstract.  I really like the shadow and patterns

The pattern is excellent. It's great how you captured the transition between the two different shapes and frequencies of the ripples. This definitely works for me. I think I would try to get the darkest tones to be near neutral black, which will probably require adjusting the color channels independently.

Thanks everyone.  I'll tinker with that shadow and share if the result is worthy.  I tried a b/w and it was just too bland, but I might give that another go in SilverEfex.

Here is a repost of the original color image. I brought down the shadows a bit and reduced the saturation there to approximate a more neutral tone.  I'm not sure I went about that the right way, so any feedback is much appreciated.  I also cropped the ULC a bit too.  The moire there was just getting to me.

And here is the b/w version....still in LR. I think I need to tweak the feather on the brush strokes with these two.  Let me know if you agree.

I think the repost has moved towards the right target, but it's not quite there yet (for my personal taste). Though I'm not sure the light allows for what I had in mind.
