Another Rufous Hummer
by Dennis Plank
Just a shot to show what I consider the most beautiful angle for showing of his gorget. I looked at placing him on both the left and the right of center, but he insisted he preferred the middle of the road.
7D2, Sigma 150-600 C @ 600, Wimberley sidekick with Z1 ballhead on RRS legs, f/9, 1/250, iso 1000, aperture priority, pattern metering. Processed in LR5 & CS6. Cropped from a horizontal original to an 8MP 4x5 vertical. Taken at 6:09 AM on May 24th.

8 commentsBeautiful shot of the Rufous Hummer. Great color, pose and the catch light in the eye.
Thanks for sharing.

I'm glad the bird told you where it wanted to be; this is one of those poses where I'd go mad deciding on placement!

I like the pose and the gorget is beautiful. I also like your posting of the hummers at your feeders. That usually happens in Augest when dozens of baby ruby-throats hit the feeders hard before heading South. Well done on capturing this little guy.................Jim
