Dark Parallels

From out on the Greenwater Valley Road last month as the wildflowers were drying up. We climbed a mound at sunset and the landscape texture was delightful all around us. I liked how the dark shadows created a parallel world among the evenly spaced mesquite bushes with the dry wash reinforcing the direction. The red in between is not yet completely dried grass.

Love it, Dave.  Fantastic pattern of these mesquite trees with those amazing shadows.  The yellow-greens of the mesquite bring such a vibrancy to the image.  The larger image is a joy.  Superb work.

Those parallel shadows create a neat abstract, Dave.  What looks like telephoto compression has isolated the view and enhanced the abstraction well.  The road adds a nice change-of-pace.  You also did well with the subtle shift from lots of sage to scattered sage.

Clever, Dave.  I never thought of using long shadows for the parallel lines, but this works very nicely.  It's also a neat desert image in its own right.
