Lone Pine Peak from Alabama Hills. And yes the foreground boulders are really that orange (neon orange lichen encrusted). Appreciate any comments, critiques and/or suggestions.

ISO100, f/16, 1/10 sec.

Wow!  This is a beautiful blend of two starkly different colors and textures.    Gob-smacking good.  Terrific soft tones throughout.

That is a very interesting combo of shapes and tones, Dave.  Very cool.  A little light on the foreground could have put this over the top.  I would suggest cropping the little arch  on the right side.  Another sweet image from the Eastern Sierras.

I love the FG, and the light is much better in the large version. I do think a bit more of that beautiful FG would be nice.

Real nice, Dave!  Do you have a secret phone app that guides you to all the great spots on the east side???? I would agree with Gary's suggestion, either crop or clone out that edge of an arch on the right. A fine take from the Alabamas.

I was surprised to see a mountainous landscape like this from Alabama, but then I googled and saw that this is a place in California, haha. You learn something new every day!

You handled the dr very well, but I do seem to see some kind of gradient in the foreground rocks. It might very well be some sort of optical illusion though, created by the lighter background. It doesn't really bother me, but it was something I noticed. The round shapes of the boulders are a nice contrast to the sharp peaks in the distance.

The layers compliment the gorgeous light and clouds beautifully, Dave. The large version is exquisite. This is very minor and I did not notice it until i opened the large version, but I would crop or clone out that arch on the right side off the frame. Just my opinion of course.

Amazing difference between the smaller image and the large detailed image with respect to color rendition here. The large image is really impressive. I like the shadings that you have been able to create. Very nice to look at and explore.

Love the orange and blue combination here, and the light on the peaks adds a lot of drama. I like that the foreground is in the shade, anchoring the whole image. Great!

Another beautiful image Dave,

Maybe if I ever head out your way, I will hire to be a guide for my photography trip. cool

I like the combination of shapes of the boulders in the foreground, and the sweet light on the background mountains. The blues in the sky provide a really nice punch of color in this image too.

Beautiful work
