This lovely little stream eventually finds its way to the Stanislaus River in Tuolumne County, CA a few miles from home. I was drawn to the stream, of course, but I especially liked the quiet of the trees and the lush foliage on a Spring morning.

Really pretty little stream scene. Nice to have such a place close to home.

This is a really fine image to my way of thinking. We get a lot of stream image from the Columbia Gorge area processed a certain way and it's refreshing to see this subject handled in a different manner. I would have used a faster shutter speed for that water but that's just my preference. It's a lovely composition with every naturally in place.

Suggestions: (1) maybe burn in a bit the top of the rock on the right. (2) maybe, just maybe, back off on the cyan just a tad.

This is very beautiful and serene. Nice 'backyard'! Comp works very well and the greens really show off well under the soft lighting. The highlights in the foreground water seem a little hot so I would try to burn down but other than that this is great.

Beautiful close to home stream scene, Preston.  I love this.  The greens of the moss and, to me, the shutter speed looks perfect to convey the mood.  There is one orange spot about 2/3  up from the bottom on the left bank that I would clone.  Very nice image.

Lovely is the right word, Preston! Comp is spot on, and there is so much nice stuff to discover around the frame. The vibrant mosses on the fg rocks is one of them, and I really like them. My first thought was that a scene like this could have benefited from a polarizer, maybe not full effect, but a bit. Minor nit though.

I'm really enjoying the look up this stream.  Very nice feeling here. Perfect exposure for the water. Nicely composed. I spent a year in this area as professional river guide during the last year of the Stanislaus River before the New Melones Dam did an end to my livelihood at the time. But it was time to get a real life...

This long view up the stream has a wonderful sense of inviting serenity.  You've got a great collections of spring greens/yellows and the two step rapids adds well to the sense of depth.  This looks like a wonderful spot to sit quietly and enjoy.

Near perfection in composition, Preston.  Even at 4 seconds shutter you still have some definition in the moving water.

Love your composition, Preston, and the glistening sheen on the rocks in the foreground and the golden hues of the submerged rocks.  The colors all seem very natural to the eye.  Nice.
