Thanks for all the wonderful comments on my previous image.
This is another image from last October in the Adirondacks. This is the left half of a panorama of 9 vertical images of Chapel Pond at sunrise. I cropped it down to about 41 megapixels. Shooting huge, wide panoramas presents me with so many cropping choices that I have a hard time picking the composition I want. When I am there, I want to capture everything; but back home I sometimes realize that the "everything" that made my heart soar at the scene translates better on paper (and monitors) when I "put some blinders on."
Canon 5D3; Canon 24-105 mm.; Circ. Pol.
1/30 sec. @ f/16; ISO 320
4 vertical frames stitched in PSCC (All my panoramas that include some foreground are exposed using a home-made pano bracket for nodal point control.)

11 commentsA beautiful, quiet and relaxing image - makes me wish I was just hanging out on the shore sitting on a log.
I can see your dilema with trying to choose a comp from a wider pano. All I got to say is you made a great choice!
No nits per se, but if it were mine, I might clone some of the small bits of sky in the tree in the ULC; no biggie though.
Wonderful image that just brings the viewer right there.

Sweet . . .
Very nice work from start to finish, I'm going to have to get up your way so we can get out on the water together some day soon.
