Hey Jim,
This is a handsome fellow and I can understand how he would brighten up your morning. They have recently started showing up in my neck of the woods also.
Well balanced composition, nice pose, unique perch and I like the color tones in the background. It would have been nice to have had a little more depth of field but you have it tack sharp were it counts. Wonderful look at the eye and a cool look at the horizon in the reflection of the eye. The larger version is very impressive.
Well Done . . .

Excellent image. I like the forward thrust to the bird's head and neck.

Sweet portrait of this handsome fellow posing for you Jim. I think the soft light worked nicely here.

This is very nicely done Jim. I really like the subtle transitions in the background along with the complementary colors in the bird. You put the whole package together very well. Nice color and composition. Wish I had some of these grosbeaks in my neighborhood.

Great eye contact and excellent exposure here Jim, I wish for a touch more depth of field but from your techs it doesn't look like you had much light to work with.

Very cool looking Grosbeak Jim. Personally never seen one. Nice work on this. I agree with Nate, but also understand your techs and not having a choice really. Great job keeping this sharp at 1/250.
