I got to watch this year-old Red-tail hunt for a little while last week.  No success in three attempts, but that's not unusual.

Canon 7D Mark II; Sigma 150-600 C @ 600 mm.
1/640 sec. @ f/8; ISO 320
Braced on car window
Cropped from horizontal

Must have been fun, Wayne.  We've got a nesting pair or two in the area, but I never seem to see them actively hunting.  A nice crisp image of the hawk.  I'd be tempted to blur the oof branches behind the bird a bit more-they have a bokeh that my eye finds a bit unsettling.

A handsome shot of this sub-adult, Wayne. We don't get to see the light morphs in this part of the country. I'm good with the habitat; it's where the bird is. Good capture of the intensity of this species, too.
