Morning Calm

For sometime now I have been trying to master the technique of doing what is known as focus stacking in combination with my stitched photos I use to do my landscapes. This morning I think I finally nailed it. This is a shot I did at Coot Lake SW of Longmont. The goal was to have the grass in the nearest foreground in focus while maintaining perfect focus of the mountains.

the final image is a combination of 160 images. I started by taking 5 images each with different focus from near to far. These images were processed using Focus Stacking software to form a single image in which every thing from very close to the horizon is in focus. This yielded me 32 perfectly focused images which I then stitched into a final 32" x 67" photo. Shot at f-11, 1/250th sec. 7 ISO 100 with 50mm lens.

A very nice tranquil image with wonderful color and reflections.  Definitely sharp front to back and great exposure with detail throughout.  Your technique most assuredly is spot on to my eye.  Really nice work.

Nice detail and a lovely composition. On my monitor the cyan in the water and the sky could be dialed back a bit. This is minor, but I find the bits of tree on the on the right edge near the top a little distracting. Other than those two minor nits, this is a well crafted image.

Fantastic job putting this together, all looks pretty seamless to me. Great details and a sense of serenity too.

This image certainly deserves more than 3 comments. The detail is remarkable throughout. There's a very optimistic feel to this image due to all that open space and light. I like the splashes of light across the fg grasses. Nice job.
