Here is another swan image, taken the same place as the last one.  Hopefully I have done a better job of processing with this one. I seem to have a chronic issue with color casts, particularly the color blue.  I am red/green colorblind, but that is usually not an issue.  I appreciate the feedback on the previous swan posting, as that is why I am here.  I wouldn't have noticed the problems without having them pointed out.  Thanks again.  On this one I really like that the swan is flying directly toward me ( a different perspective), the yellow flowers in the background (although it looks like foreground), and those amazingly large feet.  Looks like it must be like walking around with swim fins.  D800e, Sigma 150-600 S @ 600, f9, 1/2500, ISO 1000.  Comments and criticism are always appreciated.

I really like the flight angle and the dangling feet in this one Jim. I am not seeing any color cast on my monitor, so think you did a fine job with it. Just an FYI...not sure you sue NIK software (it is now free), but the Color Efex has something called Pro Contrast as a choice. The top slider removes color cast. If you have a hard time seeing them sometimes, it might help.

I love the landing pose and head-on perspective, Jim, and as you noted those big feet are amazing.  That's a pretty neat bg as well.  While the bird doesn't look soft, it also doesn't look really crisp-which may be a good thing depending on one's taste.  Mine would lead me to sharpen the bird just a bit.

Nice frame.  MUCH better than your recent post of the swan.  That landing pose is pretty funny!

Good job in getting the head on shot. An amusing pose of the swan coming in for a landing.  Nice background.

Thanks very much for the feedback guys.  Glad to hear this one is better than the last.  Still have lots to learn regarding processing.  I had actually been imagining there was blue on this guys underwings and spent a lot of time trying to remove it.  My wife saw the before and after and commented that there was no blue in the original but now it was blue.  So, I started from scratch, not touching the underwings.

I have included a repost that has been sharpened a bit more, selectively, to the bird.  Have I over-sharpened it?  Thanks again for the assistance.

Kurt, thanks for the tips on the NIK software.  I had downloaded it last week and have just begin experimenting with it.  Good to know there is a slider  that removes color casts.  I will try it!

Hi Jim,

The pose is very nice with those big webbed landing gear positioned for the splash down. I would selectively sharpen the swan just a bit to prep it for printing.  Otherwise, looks good..............................Jim

Sweet pose here, and the head-on perspective adds great interest. Very cooperative of him/her to come down low enough to get the green BG! The yellow flowers are a great addition.
fine work!

Very cool capture. The re-post fixed any nits I might have had.
