Buttermilk Sunrise

This photograph was taken some time ago in the Buttermilk Country west of Bishop, CA.. I have been wandering around through my archive, and as far as I can recall, this image has not been displayed here at NPN. I am including it in this gallery because of the road.

I do not have any techs on this one, other than it was made using my Mamiya 645E, (6x4.5 cm) medium format camera.
Basic curves and Hue/Sat for the sky and earth, and Neat Image noise reduction.

Please see the large version. Thank you!

Your thoughts are always appreciated. cool

Until you pointed it out, I had no idea that there was a road there :) Lovely work, Preston! The light is simply incredible!

Real pretty scene and great mix of colors. Like Sairam, I would not have known that was a road had you decided not to mention it.  I might bring down the highs in the road a little, but very minor stuff. Very nicely done, PB.

Nice composition and beautiful light. This might also work nicely if you cropped most of the road off the bottom.

I would not have guessed that to be a road. Really pretty scene and sky, the orange and yellows/greens make for a very nice combination. The bright areas in the distance in the sky appeal to me very much as well, love those!

Love the color in the sky and rabbit brush, Preston, but the dark grad(?) line along the mid-ground hill fights for my attention.

Wonderful sky Preston.  Great light on the foreground brush.

A wonderful scene with beautiful colors. I think your comp works very nice and I love the clouds and sky color. It does look like you might have used a grad filter (?) which worked great on the sky but may have darkened the hilltop a little to much. Anyways still a beautiful scene.cool
