I've come back from a trip to Ireland and Norway more inspired with my landscape photography for a while. Lots of new images to share. This is a peak I scouted out a year ago while co-leading a tour with Arild Heitmann and Stian Klo. We never managed to check it out but it remained in my mind should I return which I did. Spent a day exploring the area which was very rewarding. Curious if anybody knows what kind of animal made these tracks.

Hi Kah, a wonderful image - i think the 'cool' finish works very well with great contrast in the sky.

Beautiful shot Kah Kit; a nice dynamic composition. No idea on the animal, but I feel the tracks add a lot to the image. Love the texture in the snow too.

This is superb. Very powerful and dynamic. Agree with Mark that the choice of a bluish rendering works beautifully.

The large version is a must see! I really like your decision of including the hare tracks (at least that's what they look to me), they add such a nice story to this photo, as well as some feeling of mystery as well. Gorgeous shot, print and be proud!

Very nice image. With the smoothness of the photo, it looks like you used a filter to take the shot rather than achieve this dramatic detail in post processing. If so, might I ask what filter you used?

Fantastic image Kah Kit. Like the others I really enjoy the tones in this which add such a cool feel to the image. The comp and details are wonderful as well. It looks like hare tracks to me like from the Mountain Hare, Snow Hare or Tundra Hare which I think are all the same. Our rabbit (or hare) tracks around here look just like these.

Definitely hate/rabbit tracks. I still remember them from my Boy Scout days. The 2 front legs drop together and the rear provide all the motion. The front legs pretty much just provide stability. And this guy wasn't too disturbed judging from their pattern.
Snow often has a sensuousness like that of a sand dune and this one is like that. Nice image. I think that the tracks add a lot to this image. In fact, they're the center of focus for me.

Rabbit tracks. Very typical. And a very nice harey image then. The silver platinum blue tone is very effective here.

The cool tones go very well with the snowy image. I do like the tracks following the steam bed (I think). Looks like a perfect winter day. Beautiful snow textures with the delicate lighting. Wondering what the 2 straight lines mid image on the right might be? Seem a little out of place considering the scene/location.

Oh My Kah Kit, this is outstanding. I too love the cold, steel-blue tonality here. Easily understood why you wanted to return here and no doubt you're glad you did.
Love everything about this, including the tracks. My guess is a rabbit/hare.
Beautifully captured!

Love this one, particularly the left side with the shading and shape of the snow.
The large version is spectacular!

Sweet view of Ireleand!!!! Excellent B&W, beautiful scene! I will be the contrarian, as the blue is not completely working for me. I prefer it straight B&W, and I am seriously out-voted. Very fine image!

What a wonderful area, and you have composed the scene beautifully. The tracks are definitely of the rabbit variety. I have mixed thoughts about the tint. On one hand, I love this exactly as presented. There is a mystical quality to it. On the other hand, if I saw a true b/w rendering of the scene, I might think less about the tint and notice other details in the composition. Either way, it is well done and a shot worth going back to make.

Conveys the scene of cold with the bluish hue, great scene and the mysterious tracks enhance the overall impact.

Thanks for the comments. I'm attaching a BW version for comparison. Charles I converted this into BW using Nik Silver Efex and then the tint using the colour balance in Photoshop. No filters used. Harley this is Norway not Ireland!

Rabbit or hare, most likely in Norway some version of the "Varying Hare" as we have here in Alaska.

Awesome, Kah Kit! I like your composition and the high contrast rendering as well as the blue toning of the shadows. No nits!

Thanks for sharing a b/w rendering. I keep coming back to look at both, and I think, for me, the blue toned version is the most magical and engaging. I'm a fool for gunmetal blue-gray colors anyway, but I the cool tones are truly fabulous.
