Purple rain

After some recent rainfall these purple flowers were beautiful and the drops added some extra character. I realize the long green leaf in the FG might be a distraction, but I had some difficulty getting the right comp and thought I just leave it. Comments and critique will be appreciated.

Imaged cropped, no other post processing done.

Techs:
Fujifilm X-T1 with XF18-135mm lens at 116mm
1/110s, F5.6, ISO200

Intriguing blu and yellow flowers in a good composition. The only problem for me is a BG too intrusive. If it were mine I would try: cropping as much as possible on the left for getting read of most of the grass blade; cropping in the right for balancing the composition; lowering color saturation and light in the BG. That's only my very personal opinion.

Willem, Gigi has given some good post processing advice. I might add, doing some judicious pruning ahead of time would have simplified things a good bit.cool

The color of the flowers is really nice Willem, and the water droplets are interesting.  I think the blade in the front is a bit distracting, as is the brownish-red just left of center.

Willem: I think you did reasonably well with a very busy environment. I am guilty of doing some "gardening" when in the field if its my flowers or wildflowers and carry a small pruning scissors with me for such a time as this. Really nice capture of the main subjects. >=))>
