Nikon D700
Nikon 17-35 @ 20mm
f 22 @ 30 sec.
ISO 200
tripod & cable release
Acadia NP, ME

This is a different day looking in the opposite direction as the other Sand Beach sunrise post. This one has a different mood than the other image, but I liked this one equally as well.

Thanks for taking aa look and leaving a comment or suggestion.

Ed,
This is very nice! The long SS has given this a wonderful dreamy feel and the color palette is beautiful. Comp. works well anchored with the foreground rocks. I think the right side of the image could be lightened just a bit to even out the exposure some.

Love the simplicity of your image, the quiet feel of the misty water, and the wonderful balance to your composition. My only thought, and a picky one at that, might be to try and reduce the brightness of the sky in the upper left hand corner just a bit as it draws the eye away from the rest of the image somewhat.  I realize that the light had a left to right gradient in brightness, but reducing that upper left a tad without messing up that gradient too much might be the ticket.  Just a thought of course.  Love the larger image.

Great moody image. Really nice comp with a perfect ss for the water. Agree with Vance about the sky, but with my limited PS skills I wouldn't know how to do it without making the bright sky gray.crying

Yeah, those two can't be compared I think. Nr 1 had a very hopeful atmosphere to it, and this is much more moody and even a bit mystical. I really dig these kind of photos, and this is no exception. Very calming and enjoyable. The dodging/burning suggestion by th others might be worth it to experiment with, although I also like this as is.

Here is a repost with Dave and Vance's suggestions for a little selective dodging and burning. Thanks for the input guys.

I like the feel of this image. Simple with really beautiful light. I like the second image better. A more even gradient of light.

Hi  Edcrying   The large version  must be seen, to appreciate  the delightful  quality of  light and  color   in  this  fine composition.    the second  version is   even  better with a more  even  gradient  of light

Ed,

Quiet, beautiful and even a bit ethereal.  Great job with the repost, I think that's the ticket.

No nits at all, love it.

The light and the low angle make this image esp strong, with just enough sky against the water for a balanced composition.
