This is the last of the trio of images from this evening that I will post. The image was captured last month on the Sherwin grade in the Eastern Sierra. Appreciate any comments, critiques and suggestions. Thanks

I absolutely love clouds like those, they are the best! This one is my favorite of the trio, together with the previous one. Can't choose between those two, though. The light hitting the mountain is really nice in this one, and the large version is a real treat to look at.

I am immediately drawn to the light hitting the mountain. The moon in the upper right corner balances out the image which is anchored by the tree. Superb sky. I really like the color gradations here from the rocks to the mountains in the background.

I think this might be my favorite of the trio of images from this location, Dave. The layering is superb as is the combo of warm and cool colors in the scene. I love the drama in the sky and I like the fact that the moon is partially obscured; gives it a bit of mystery. Fantastic job on this.

Although all are excellent, I have no difficulty picking my favorite: this one. My only nit is the small, vertical snow line at bottom left on far mountains.  Superb.

Outstanding, Dave. Same wonderful combination of elements plus the beautiful alpenlight on the mountain. You must have been thrilled to get this.

Dave,

The Grand Finale!  What a great way to finish off this series.  Each one beautiful and unique on it's own, yet all from one great moment (or moments...)   This one has it all.  I love the moon, the clouds, the first light, the tree, the anchored boulders...  all coming together in one harmonious image.

No nits what so ever.

I hope you return to the Eastern Sierra again soon!

This is one beautiful image.  The tree, the glow on the mountains, and the moon work perfectly in unison.  Wonderful shadow detail in the foreground and in the tree; just enough.  All three of your trio are superb.

Nice take of the scene and nice soft light. I think you could crop a bit off the top, as the amount of sky above the moon doesn't balance very well (in my opinion). This would result in a slightly panoramic format. An alternative would've been to include a bit more foreground at the bottom of the frame at the expense of some sky lost.

Just a fine image. An image really works for me when it makes me want to be there. This one make me really wish I was there experiencing the moment.

This is quite exquisite! The alpenglow with the moon really makes this image sing. Lovely work

Just lovely, Dave. I think this is the best of the series. The color and tones look great and the light on the mounatin is balanced by the full moon. Sweet image!

Hey Dave, I have resided in Santa Barbara from time to time and lead trips to the Sierra/DV region for more than a decade now.  This is among the best I've seen.  I love the balance here.  This really captures the essence of the region.  Galen Rowell would have loved this.

A peaceful and balanced shot - the moon, tree, everything is in just the right place.  I just checked the others from the series - what a different feel of the same scene with different crops and lighting.  Alpenglow is a wonderful thing - glad you captured it.  Not much to change in this one - maybe try to pull out a little more detail /contrast in the FG bushes, but very minor.
