Naked Dancers

I was wandering through some archived RAW files and decided to work this up. I liked the sweep of the naked branches and the bit of fog on the frosted Leidig Meadow in Yosemite Valley.

Very nice capture! The frosted grass and layer of fog make this one unique. The conditions play very well with the muted tones. Excellent as rendered but I think I would prefer if the green in that  one pine tree at center was toned down a bit, closer to the subtle colors in the rest of the image.

Preston.....excellent. The little pine is a perfect center piece to the scene. The low ground fog on the meadow is a real plus.....very nice work...laugh

Real nice, Preston. The fog and stark trees makes for a nice moody image.  I would agree with Dave's take on the little pine saturation. I haven't played with it, but it might make a nice B&W as well. I sure like it in color.

An exceptional shot for me, Preston. While the slight asymmetry makes for an appealing tension to my eye, the diverse layers keep me exploring your whole composition. One of my top favorites from your work.

The first thing that struck me was the contrast level, which is perfect and really makes the image stand out.  Excellent composition, and the addition of the fog, haze, whatever adds a touch of mystery.  Very nice.

Wow, I have never seen such selective frosting! Nothing at all on the trees! That in itself is beautiful, but the selection of trees you chose as a background is well chosen. Nice diversity in those trees, and I actually like how the green tree stands out from the rest, without being an attention drawer.

This is excellent Preston!  Doubt this will make sense and it's rather a dumb statement, but, "It looks just like a b&w image, only it's color... "  And I like that it's color and not b&w.

I think the color/sat of the pine is of course subjective and I could go either way. I think it's fine as presented.  The frosted grass in the small version got a little compressed, but looks good in the larger view.  The layer of fog here makes the image.

Well done, Like this a lot!

I love the symmetry and all those wonderful details in the large version, but what sends this over the top is the low ground fog and the frosted grasses. I too could see that lovely pine with just a bit less saturation.
either way this is beautiful work, Preston.
