What a Difference a Year Makes!

This photo was taken on this exact date last year, or even a couple of days earlier.  This year, there is still six inches of snow on that same piece of ground.  The crocuses are going to be a lot later this year than they were last year!

Any and all thoughts appreciated.

Nathan

I like the details and colours,  The gold looks like tiny hands reaching out to life.  Well done.

A very nice composition, Nathan.  Glad to hear you got snow this winter-last summer was scary.  I like the dof in this one, but I do find the two oof foreground petal tips to be a minor distraction.

Nathan: I love crocus images and hope one day I might get some myself. I think this is frame filling fantastic. Beautiful color palette and I like the POF. 2 thumbs up! >=))>

I love the yellow strokes popping up among the forest of petals. Nathan, I love less the soft pieces of petal rising from the bottom that seem to me out of tune. It is an excellent photo anyway.

I also think the OOF petals in the foreground detract from the image. The light one on the left more so than the darker one on the right since it creates a bright edge and draws attention from the center. I also find the orange stamens in the LRC to command attention away from the rest of the image.

Overall, it's a nice, soft picture of a pretty flower with a pleasing color palette.
