A nice lot of pictures have gone up in the last day and this one is one of the nicest.  Love the black and white and I am sure the colour version would be equally attractive.

The light on these ice formations is wonderful. This ice in the the dark setting seems to me to be both dramatic and relaxing at the same time.  I think this is well-composed, but I wonder if it might be even stronger without the dark area at the top.  Perhaps a square crop to eliminate SOME of the top might also work well?

Cool ice sculpture.  The B&W really works well with it, too.

Fantastic capture Daniel.  I like the near far comp and details in the ice.  Your shutter speed adds to this enchanting scene.

Sweet micro b/w landscape.  I like it a lot, Daniel. For such a small scene it had incredible depth.  Bravo!

Beautiful conversion, Daniel, with so much to see. I love the highlighted ice/twigs in the center. I could see darkening the upper background slightly as there are not any attractive features there. This would further highlight that single vertical, ice-encrusted twig that is very neat.

What a beautiful little scene. I like the placing of the objects in the frame, so no crop for me. Really like the view through the ice sculptures. Usually I am not a fan of milky water, but here its vague shapes contrast the well defined shapes of the ice. Light seems to come out of this little cave shining through the ice leaves. Good choice of dof focusing attention on the ice forms resembling stalactites. Well seen, well executed.

Hi  Danielcrying   A  magical scene   beautifully  crafted..! the  fine detail  in  B&W  works  perfectly  for  me against the  water  motion

Ice is always a fascinating subject. I tend to agree with Wayne's suggestion that the upper dark section doesn't really go well with the light subject matter. Also, I tend to associate ice with cool colors and think that this would probably look good in it's natural cool colors.

This is a beautiful and unique image for winter. I love the ice leaf and the glittery formations around it. Good choice on exposure length to blur the water. Very nice in B and W. I might consider cropping a little off the top just to focus the eye a little more on the ice. Really gorgeous in any case!

Amazing details and textures in this intimate landscape, Daniel. I really love the subtle lighting in this image. Great eye to spot this beauty.

Daniel, Nice work seeing and capturing this one, and I really like the longer exposure. The contrast of the water motion and sharp ice works great. I do think I like it better with some of the dark area at the top cropped out. Very nice.

Excellent choice going for B+W. The sharp details contrast nicely to the ghostly shapes in the water, that is a really nice interplay. Large version is very nice with all the different ice structures.

Wow! this is outstanding Daniel!!! I love this image.  B&W does wonders in boiling a scene down to just contrasts, shapes, form, etc.  Processing is fantastic here, but even better is the subject matter; the flow and dreaminess of the water beneath the cold and icy details of the icicles, leaf, etc.

If I had to nitpick anything, I would clone/crop a couple of the very small bright spots on the very left edge of the frame. very minor and quite nitpicky though.

If I were picking, this would be in the running for image of the week!  (but I don't get to pick any more.)
