Fading Light

Last light behind the frosted scrub spruce near Eureka Alaska at approximately -20°F.  The little bit of direct sunlight on the taller trees added a little extra to the scene.

Sony ILCE-6000, SEL-1670Z @ 16 mm, ISO-100, f/8.0, 1/25, hand held.

A neat view, Gary. I'm really enjoying how the two tallest trees reach nearly to the top of the frame while framing the colored clouds.  I also like the fact that you didn't use those two tall trees to frame the view.  For me, the extra space around those two trees adds a touch of whimsy and makes this image more about the quiet, cold landscape than about the setting sun.

Gorgeous image, Gary. I like the way the space between the two tall trees is off-center, and also like that you didn't try to bump up the brightness artificially to make the snow more white. This way it really does look cold -- Brrrr!

Nicely framed, makes the trees the story and not the sunset.  I also like your WB choice and keeping everything cool as it conveys that ridiculously cold temperature you were shooting in.

Nothing more I could add to the comments of the others.  If I look at this picture long enough I can get a shiver.
