Sandia Snow Day

Taken earlier this month in the foothills near Albuquerque. I drove to the foothills in late afternoon, hoping to stay until sunset, but the weather quickly became worse and I had to head home earlier than I had hoped.
Nikon D810, 24-70 @ 24mm, f/11, 1/125, ISO 64.

It does look like some nasty weather moving in, Sharron.  I like the scene with the dusting of snow in the low lands, the big rock in the lower left and the and juniper in the mid-ground.  The high contrast on in the ridge had me thinking that this may be a bit oversharpened, but a second and third looks at the larger version has me doubting that sense.

The large version of this is required viewing, Sharron!  It has much greater presence and a lot more visible details (which are nice and sharp also).  The exposure and colors are just right and make for a very real scene, including the clouds.  Very nice!

Very well composed scene with great detail. I love the clouds over the mountain and the large rock in the foreground.
