winter scene

Winter Scene: Snow water, reeds and rock.

taken w/ Canon Eos 7D w/ canon 18-55mm IS STM
settings:    AV   f/36    1/20     ISO 500     52mm    bias +1 metering pattern

Used a variable ND filter to remove the harsh glare of the sky and to allow for a smaller aperture to give greater DOF between the reed in the foreground, and the reeds in the back.. Also tried for a softening of the waters while still leaving some definition of the waves and current for texture.

Any comments or suggestion welcomed.

Jim,
Pretty image. I like the way you have included the reeds on the RHS which adds nice depth and interest. I might suggest burning down the snow on the right side. I find it tends to hold my eye from exploring further into the scene.

I'm liking this shot, Jim. The SS is perfect and I also like the reeds on the right. I might crop or clone away the two brighter spots near the top edge in the forest. There is a noticeably brighter white area on the right edge of the water drop that could use some attention, maybe by borrowing some sections of less white whitewater.
