One of the Maasai men that helps keep everybody safe at Elephant Pepper Camp from wild intruders. Here he stands looking out over the plains of Mara North during an epic sunrise . . . . This is Africa ! <div>

Mario, this is perfect poster art for a documentary, and nicely composed.  I love the pose and the lighting on the clothes.  I do wish for a higher vantage point for the feet.

Holy smokes, Mario! Never mind perfect for a documentary poster (though indeed it is), this is pretty much perfect, period!

Congrats in advance on the awards and sales this one will bring, but much more importantly, on the truly inspiring art you have created. Spectacular graphic appeal, rich, rich tones, killer backlight illuminating the cloak...killer everything, including the extreme placements and overall comp.

I'll shut up, but this really is a stunner, to say the least.

Wow..Just perfect, love the light bleeding through his robes and the classic poses but marry that to the striking silhouetted trees in soft focus and this is about as good as it gets.  I concur with the thoughts relating to the chopped off feet but even so it's a belter.

Mario - I made the mistake ;) of dropping by your blog link at Southscape Images and the pano banner is a very nice variation of this with the slightly increased angle of the Maasai man, greater sense of space and sweep. The cluster of trees on the right in this image balances the strong element of the silhouetted warrior nicely here however, and overall probably has more impact.

Anyway, had to come back and soak this one in a little more. enlightened

WOW ! Thanks for the great feedback guys ....... The 'Chopped Off' feet has an explanation. This Maasai was wearing gum boots that did not look very "maasai" so hat to underexpose or cut off that area. I guess I could have asked him to take them off but its was so damn cold and wet that I felt bad for him so didn't.  <div id="myEventWatcherDiv" style="display:none;"> </div>

Mario: A wonderfully evocative image leaving no doubt at all where you are. Love that the man is silhouetted while there is still some detail in his red cloak. Everything is spot on technically. Congrats!! Richard

Beautiful composition and lighting, everything is just in the right place and balanced.  The delicate lighting on the robe is perfect.  Like how you kept the dark shadows as shadows.Don't see how this could be improved, really well done.
