Tree shrews are unique small tree dwelling mammals from Southeast Asia.  Once considered primative primates they are now in their own family Tupaiidae.  This tree shrew was photographed at the Miller Park Zoo.

John,

you managed to get a very natural overall setup in this image which is mainly due to the right usage of depth of field. I must say that I do not know this animal but from the picture it looks as it has a long tail and that is why I would have tried a vertical orientation which would have benefit in my opinion the composition.

Technically the image looks fine, good detail in the areas of focus, and also the exposure is right on. The usage of flash is not so noticeable and I like that as well.
