Here's Gracie Rose, reaching the end of her good humor posing for me.

"Can we just be done with this?"

Canon 50D, EF135/2L, f/2 @ 1/100th, ISO 400, hand held, a small crop off the top.

Hey Jim,

I know the look so well - my fuzz-dudes give it to me all the time! This one definitely brought a smile to my face!

Definitely a sweet-looking dog...

You do seem to love that lens! My overall favourite "dog lens" is a 300mm f4 VR (from Nikon)...nice bokeh and uber small so easy to always have with me whenever I'm walking my guys...

Have a great New Years...

Brad

She sure is beginning to look impatient, Jim.  The personality shows nicely in this one.

Not so sure I would want to be there when the other eyebrow is raised.

Second shot of the sequence is my original post.

Third shot;

"I swear, I'm going to chew your LowePro camera bag if you keep this up."

It seems that most semesters for the past few years I get at least one student who shows up with a guide dog in training, complete with their yellow "uniforms" (I think it is their way of circumventing no pet policies in dorms - good for the dogs!). This is exactly the look in their faces!! They are incredibly well behaved, but I can't imagine the torture that it must be to have to lay still for 75 minutes listening to me sad I always go play with the "victim" at the beginning and end of the lecture, and am sometimes reprimanded by my students, because then the dog gets confused about whether this is "work time" or "play time". Oh well.

Having been a cat person all of my life, who never interacted much with dogs, I find their infinite patience a refreshing experience .....

Jim,

she really loks a bit stressed about all the photography that may have been done and that is very nicely seen in the image. Anyhow a bit more room around her head would have been nice. Technically very good, good detail in the fur and fine exposure.

Focus on the eyes is just right, and those eyes are offering us a soulful expression.  Collar and oof background colors provide nice harmony, too.

Not sure that last one is disdain or utter boredom.  She is certainly very tolerant.  Like Alberto, I have guide-dogs in my classes as well.  One year, a somewhat younger and less competent guide dog would utter a loud yawn ending with a squeal at about 40 minutes into the 50 minute class. As a teacher, I found it refreshingly honest.  It certainly made everyone laugh as he was saying what we were all feeling.

If she had a thought bubble it would say "ENOUGH ALREADY, I need a cookie"!

Thanks to all for your comments!

Gracie is very expressive but always courteous, at least as far as a dog can be. The last photo is signaling that she's bored and is getting ready to either walk away or lay down and ignore me.  Even when she does, all I have to do is say her name and she will give me an affectionate look and a wag of the tail.

Speaking of the loveable Gracie Rose, she just came down the stairs to check on me, always very accepting of any attention she receives!
