A magnificent male lion from the Kalahari strolls along on his morning patrol. This handsome guy is the new macdaddy around the area of 13th borehole in the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park, and he provided us with some great sightings on our December 2014 safari. I am looking forward to catching up with him when we return next week.

This will be my last post on NPN for 2015. Thanks for all the great feedback and discussion!
Have a blessed Christmas and prosperous New Year!

Morkel,

very nice and it characterizes this proud animal very well. The light is great, as it is the diagonal placement of the lion in the frame, which emphasizes the froward movement.

Have a nice trip, Happy Holidays and a succesfull and healthy 2016.

Classic shot!  I like the eyes and the raised paw.

Morkel: you've captured a magnificent male in great light and in stride. Well done. Richard

Hey Morkel,

Another fine shot. At the end of the day, if one wants to transcend documentary shooting then "seeing the light" is a critical skill. And you saw the light (and captured it) very, very well here. If this were mine I might experiment with a slight crop off the top, but this one does look might fine exactly as posted...

Cheers...

Brad
