Hey Bill,
He is a handsome fellow and gave you a great pose. The colors and detail in the large version are outstanding.
Well done . . .

Bill,
the pose shows more or less who the boss of the area is and one of the things I like about the image. Of course the slight snow fall and the light conditions are also fine and you manged to get the elk well isolated from the background by using a big aperture.

That's a great photo! Details are superb and his colors against the grey b/g... sunlight was low and illuminating him nicely.... perfect.

A terrific frame, captured in a masterly manner!
All the elements appear to be in sync and love the arrogant gait of the Elk!

Bill: great shot. Love the raised legs and the cleanness/detail of the elk against the background. Congrats! Richard

What a gorgeous pose, Bill, you caught the stride perfectly and got a very nice head turn to boot. Nice placement in the frame as well. The glancing sidelight really brings out the texture of the hair and the snow in the air caps it all. A wonderful image.

What a proud stately aniimal your image shows Bill, like he is posing well for you. You had excellent conditions too with the combo of sun and snow, a sweet image for sure.

Hi Bill,
Nice light, good subject matter, and a great pose (love the symmetry of the two raised hooves) - what else could one ask for? Nicely done on the exposure. Is it possible the image needs a slight CW rotation? Seems to me that the majority of the trees in the background are slightly tilted to the left (there can always be a tree or two that are tilted or leaning in any forest, but they almost all seem to be leaning a bit).
Nicely done Mr. Bickle...
Cheers...
Brad

Hello Nate, Brad Good to hear from you both! For me..... nothing much better than being-there!!
I really enjoy the wintertime , with cold bright days, cold enough to keep everything fresh, when snow stays all season .
Wolves have been aggressive with the young elk over last couple years and natives taking the Bulls for trophies (Not food).
Still, Elk are holding there own !!:) This was one of four bulls I did see during my short encounter this day.
Cheers

Hello Kurt,... thanks for your feedback. I enjoy the time spent among the elk, and watching their interactions within the herd.
