Shore Acres SP, Oregon

Another take on the giant surf at Shore Acres a few weeks ago. Hope this is a slightly better balanced comp than the first rendition. This wasn't quite at the peak of the wave but I liked that it still showed a lot of the offshore rock before it was completely engulfed. All comments welcome. >=))>

That is some serious wave action! The sound must've rocked your boat. I like that you have more of the offshore rock. The color and contrast look very good. A very dramatic image, Bill.

Powerful Bill.  I love this for it's shear energy.  I would definetly try a conversion here. The almost monochromatic scene is screaming at me.blush

Very drmatic again, Bill. Not the volume as the previous version, but still very impressive as well and with a more balanced comp. Really like looking at the wave force and detail in the larger view.

Powerful Bill!  This one nails it.  Yes, previous image perhaps had a bigger, more dramatic wave, but this image here captures it all in context much better, IMHO.   Subtle, yet very powerful is the contrast and deep color/darkness within the main wave - like stored up energy, power or something.  The view, including the sky and bg shoreline really make this an excellent Oregon seascape.

Hi Bill, love the power in the shot here - great capture i think you really nailed the moment! - I'm with Gary on this one - I would love to see a (cool) B/W conversion as well enlightened

(It's a very very different Image (and not necessarily better enlightened ) almost drifting towards a bit abstract, since you would lose the obvious sense of scale that the trees and coastline bring, instead relying on the fine strucutres in the water to give the scale, but I would love to see a square crop of the left hand two thirds of the image ...)

Cheers, Mark
