The variety of patterns due to the interaction of the rocks with the forming ice is simply amazing.

Nicely composed, Jim. I love detail images like this. I could see a tad more contrast in mid tones, but this works very well as it is. The reds and the blues work very well together.

Really nice contrasts between the warm rocks and cool ice.  A bit chaotic, but the ice lines help tie it together.

I like this Bill, but I really liked the last one.  The  ice lines definetly hold this together, but I agree with Tony, it's got a lot more going on.  Nice, but you may have spoiled us with the first one.

Looks like you had a fantastic time in Zion this fall!  The warm/cool mix of tones and the patterns make this a winner for me.  These comps can be difficult to arrange in the viewfinder, but this works for me.  The submerged rocks are especialy cool and unique to this shot from other ice and rock images.

Excellent work, Jim, and I like how you worked out this composition. The lines, shapes, colors and details are all just wonderful.

That is great, looks like the lines of a magnetic field emerging from those rocks! I find the lower left corner slightly distracting, but nothing serious. This is very nice!

Jim,

The composition and alignment of elements is excellent; a perfect balance between the grace and flow of the ice patterns with the static and solid presence of the rocks, married together nicely.  Given the original format, I'd say you've cropped and presented this beautifully.  Processing spot on.
