Just a simple Bald Eagle - what I like about this image is the scale it gives the tree, knowing how large an Eagle is. San Juan Islands, April 2015

Nikon 80-400mm VR @ 400mm HH
f/8
1/1250s
ISO 400

Full Frame, adjustments in various programs

Luke,

I see what you mean when you state that the tree gives a sense of the dimension of this majestic bird. That could be emphasize even more cropping the image to a more panoramic look by taking away part of the top. I find a bit unfortunate for that the light conditions have not been in your favour which i.e. caused the head to be shaded.

Great framing for the Eagle, Luke.  You managed to catch some nice scattered clouds for a bg as well.

Very nice Luke, I think if you crop a little of the tree from the left (about an inch) it would emphasize the interesting shape of the perch that he has chosen.  devil
