Preston,
It seems that you have created a nice series on your trip here. This one just adds to the wonderful ones previous. I was going to comment on the spare FG, but after viewing it more I feel it needs to be this way to set off the larger grouping.
Enjoying all of these.

Well, well, Mr. Birdwell... Grass!!! This is fabulous! Over course you know I look for this stuff and youv'e crafted a beauty! My favorite part is up top where the frosted tips are set off nicely against the darker bg - which I believe is the base of those cottonwood saplings. The intermix of a few leaves and brown ferns really let the eye explore and enjoy all the details. Would love to see this even larger!
If it were me, and knowing my 4:5 ratio influence, I could see a crop up from the bottom. But then again, maybe no, this is beautiful as presented. Processing, color, all that are excellent as well.
This is just gonna force my hand.... I must post a bark image now.
Beautifully seen sir!

Beautiful image. I hate to say it, but it looks like Astia to my eye. The colors just look that way to me. Go figure. Very well seen, composed and executed. I like it a lot.

I really like the color pallette here. The faded bluish greens together with all of those earth tones is a remarkable (for me) color combination. That's the fall I enjoy more than the rich colors. An elegant somber mood - like classical music (Mozart, Vivaldi, Haydn).

I like the shape of the grasses in the image. They flow from the tips to the FG. Nicely done.

The graceful lines of the grasses are simply wonderful, together with the details in the frost and the subtle hints of color. The inclusion of the trees in the background really adds to the flow of your composition as well. Exceptional seeing, Preston.

Nice image of Yosemite's grasses, Lon. Uh, I mean Preston! :)
I like how you guys capture the same subject with different approaches. The depth created by the background layer is nice.
