Marble Rock - WC #712

Happy T-Day to all........sad

Marble Rock Formation is located near the Jumbo Rock Campground area of Joshua Tree NP. This scene was photographed over a year ago now during the summer time as I recall.

Thank you in advance for your C&C's and please review the LARGER version too.

Photographed with large & heavy dinosaur gear & film.............blush

When I saw this WC theme, Paul, I immediately thought of this formation, which I also photograped on film but about 12 years ago. It's a great scene because of the range of interesting geometic formations, and perfect for the theme. You shot this in nice light with terrific resulting colors in the sky and rocks, and I like the balance between the two in your comp. devil

Very cool, Paul.  Lots of neat texture in the rocks with the angled cracks creating a fine sense of movement.  That round boulder adds well to the sense of movement as it feels like it might have just rolled down and gotten stuck.

Enjoy tomorrow's festivities.

Wow, Paul, that is splendid. I love the textures, the overall diagonal outline, and the drama of that balancing round rock. And the plain blue sky cloudless) serves to offset the detail in the rock formation. Beautiful.

What a great formation, some fantastic shapes and outlines in the fractures. A second title could be "rock geometry" or "rock blocks".

I love the geometry in this one, Paul.  Very strong graphic lines and enough texture in the rocks to save it from being pure geometry.  Excellent image.

Very nice structure in those rocks. The diagonal lines with the marble on top of it are a great combination!
