Autumn Impressions

Autumn abstracts seem to be in vogue, so I thought I'd post a couple from this year. In this one, the wind was blowing gently and creating impressionistic reflections. I reversed the image, cloned out a couple floating leaves, and did some burning and dodging, including lightening the water to simulate the sky, to try to make this look like an impressionistic painting. Not necessarily original, but I liked the result and I am curious how this sits with others. Nikon D600, 24-70 @ 70. crying

This is a beauty, Scott.  You've caught a fine collection of subtly perturbed reflections.  There a good variety of leaf colors from green to gold.  Definitely an impressionistic look at fall colors.

Way cool Scott.  Love all the colors in the reflection and just enough disurbance on the surface to make it this very, very nice.

This is very neat! The distortion created by the water is spot on, and very even as well, which isn't always the case in these reflections. The colors look great together as well. I have been looking at it for a long time now, and I really dig this one. Well seen and done!

Scott, I love how this feels just like I'm looking at an impressionistic painting. Very cool shot!

Scott,

This is awesome!  Many times I have flipped a reflection image, and I'm surprised at how many times it just doesn't work.  This works beautifully!  Great idea about adjusting the sky to make this feel more right-side-up.  There are just the right amount of ripples to give  you that impressionistic look.  Well done on all accounts.  I love this.

Well done.  Very painterly (as in oil painterly).

I've tried a few of these flipped reflection images, but mine never looked this good. This works very well, and you did a great job on it, Scott.
