Hi Harley,

Some wonderful mood created in this image with golden light contrasting with the shadows of the cliff side in the background. You have seen and captured some wonderful light as of late, and I am really diggin what you have been doing in photography.

The combination of light and very fine detail in the branches and grass make for a  fine image with a strong  "classical" feel. No need for HDR and saturation pyrotechnics to get a beautiful image!!

Beautiful tree Harley. I like how it's peering out of the darkness. I might try cropping some of the bottom up to just below the lowest horizontal shadows. But this composition is equally good IMO.

Love it! A sense of mystery is in the darkness, and the wonderful colors and details in the grass and tree are gorgeous. I don't need any more detail in the dark shadows. Original and full of beauty.

Wow, now that is capturing some magnificent light! I really, really like this one. The nice warm light bringing out the details in the grass and the tree, the dark background with exactly the right amount of detail, it works great together. My only small suggestion would maybe be to crop a bit from the bottom so that the tree becomes more eminent, but this works fine as is as well. Must make one hell of a print....

Hey Harley!  My fist comment in I don't know how long....  You know I love this image.  My big regret is that I didn't follow you down the path to capture this beautiful moment of light.  I love everything about this image; the fleeting light, the warmth and the balanced comp.  Wouldn't change a thing!

The light and details in this are wonderful, Harley. I also like the that you were able to pull some detail from the deep shade of the valley wall. Works for me, sir!

Excellent exposure and processing! The strong contrast and the gradual change of light on the oak work out great.

The transition of shading from light to dark on the oak is wonderful.

Very nicely composed Harley.  This has a wonderful bucolic mood to it.

Wow, Harley! You have certainly been capturing some great light, and this might be my favorite thus far. I love the all the contrasts in this: light on shadow, shadow on light, gold on blue, soft grasses and tree on hard granite. It all works together perfectly. I don agree with the comments regarding a slight crop off the bottom, but it is beautiful as presented.

Well, my friend, seems like magical images and light are following you were ever you go.  Really well done.  This is certainly one I could hang proudly in my  house.  Outstanding, Harley.

Wonderful portrayal of this stately oak. I like the contrast of the blue wall behind the warm toned tree.
Very well seen.
