Wow! This is so abstract for a landscape that it seems like maybe the Photo Art Gallery is the venue for this composition. Nice effort none the less. It is a very appealing composition.

Real nice abstract. So very painterly, too. Excellent.

Jim,,,,,,I know it's a borderline call as to where this belongs, but since this is a single in camera exposure with only contrast and saturation adjustments I went with the Landscape forum. Not to be argumentative, but in my mind (warped as it may be) photo art implies heavy manipulation using software filters or other special effects in post processing. I'm sure everyone has their personal line in the sand on this topic.

Superb abstract, David. My first thought was hauntingly beautiful as it evokes almost a mystical, ancient feel. Love your composition with the central placement of the large tree fanning out from top to bottom. Incredible work.

David, this is pretty cool, and I like the moody feel. It's a departure from your usual work, and very pleasing to my eye. I was having trouble wrapping my head around a single exposure until I saw the 10 second exposure. This an excellent example of photography as creative art and very well executed.

Interesting color variations in this image. It took me a while to make some sense out to the subject and I am still not sure about what I am seeing.

Very inspiring stuff! Takes a while to realize what you're looking at, and once you figured that out, the image still doesn't loose it's abstract feeling, which is great. This makes me wanna go out and experiment a bit more with these kind of techniques.

It's only because I know of your usual haunts, David, that I knew what I was looking at here. Very spooky and artistic.

David, Being quite familar with your work I could tell right away what this image was and totally enjoy it. It really does have a haunting and mysterious mood as Preston mentioned and it works wonderfully. The comp and colors are perfect for this! Very cool.

I can only echo what everyone else has said so I won't except to say I love it...your work is always inspiring, one of the best photograhpers posting on NPN IMO. I also agree that this definitely belongs in this gallery, it's not manipulated just creative.

Hi David,
This abstract image is done beautifully well, and the color profile really brings out the ghostly nature of this image.
Wonderful vision and execution on this capture.

shot while paddling your kayak? i might be inclined to explore the contrasts and colours to a greater extent to see where this (nice) abstract may lead.
