Nancy, you caught some very interesting conditions here, with the shaft of sunlight on the fall colors and the distant mountains and a nicely stormy sky.  You're comp. works well with all of the banded layers of light shadow and color creating a good sense of depth.  I do wonder how subtly increasing the details showing in the lowest band of shaded trees look, but that could also show lots of noise, in which case it would not be an improvement.

Certainly fits the theme, Nancy. Very dramatic conditions with nice layers. Well seen and captured.

Very nice, Nancy.  The snow in the hills makes a great backdrop for thos nice fall colors in the middle.  I do think it might have a bit more impact if you lightened up the foreground trees just a bit.
