Often we know exactly what we see when we shoot, but occasionally you get an added bonus. Whether it was the movement of the Rhino, or the shutter going off I don't know, but to get a flight of Red-billed Ox Peckers taking off, in-line, for me is pretty cool, not forgetting the Rhino too cool.

Thanks to those who viewed or posted a comment on the previous thread.

Hello Steve ... Great to see the interaction, even if you were surprised. I understand these big guys are threatened and great to see him doin his thing in the wild!

....On my calibrated monitor, the image seems bright and maybe slightly over globally.

Great looking rhino. The larger version shows the detail nicely and the birds add to the image and give it interest. The thing that would have added to the image would be if there was seperation of the front lages.

Hi Steve,

Absolutely agree that the oxpeckers add interest to the image. But, to be honest, I find the shadows cast by them even (on the side of the rhino) even more interesting visually than the birds themselves! The lighting here didn't do you any favours, but always good to see shots of rhinos...

Curious about one thing you say: "...(no IS, I tend not to shoot now with this on)". What's with that? Curious about your rationale on that.

Cheers...

Brad
